TAC is seeking a new Executive Director to manage day-to-day operations but also help grow the organization and position it for future success. Reporting to the TAC Board of Directors, the Executive Director works directly with a small staff and contract personnel (e.g. accounting), as well as approximately 140 trained volunteers and a wide range of external stakeholders including Technology Professionals Canada Leadership Council (TPCLC), CEOs and Registrars of Member Organizations, College Deans and Program Coordinators, and the International Engineering Alliance (IEA). Travel up to 50% of the time within North America is possible, and global travel at least once every two years for the International Engineering Alliance (IEA) Annual Meeting is expected. As a national organization, TAC does not have a physical office but has access to office space.

    qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring experience ideally in an accrediting milieu focused on quality assurance in education (e.g. working in or with professional associations/regulators or post-secondary institutions). Knowledge of accreditation processes and their value, professional standards development, professional regulation, and registration and certification will be key to success, as will strong capabilities in project management, planning, budget preparation and oversight, board governance and volunteer management. You are a self-starter and relationship builder, comfortable with basic tasks in addition to excelling as a strategic leader. Post-secondary education in technical and/or science disciplines is preferred; additional post-secondary education in business management is a strong asset.
