Established in 1993, the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO) is the regulatory body for the dental hygienists with a promise to protect the health and smile of all Ontarians. As a regulatory organization, the College protects the public by ensuring the right to safe, competent, and ethical care from dental hygienists. The College does this by setting the requirements for entry to practice, establishing standards of practice, registering new dental hygienists, ensuring high quality of care, and holding dental hygienists accountable for their conduct and practice. The College acts in accordance with legislation from the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) and the Dental Hygiene Act (DHA) of 1991.
As the College looks to the future, it seeks to appoint a Registrar & Chief Executive Officer to lead the College through its next stage of growth and success.
Reporting to the College’s Council, the CDHO is seeking an outstanding leader to fulfil the strategic mission of the College. Responsible for enhancing the ways in which the public is protected, the Registrar & CEO will provide sound stewardship of the College, working closely with the team to deliver, and foster, best practices in registration, quality assurance, human resources, and financial management. Ensuring that practice, programs, and services are in compliance with professional and practice obligations, the new Registrar & CEO will lead a capable team of approximately 20 staff, building trusted and respectful relationships with members of the public, staff, Council, registrants, and other key stakeholders.
