The Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR) is a non-profit organization founded in 1992, to provide centralized evaluation services to the provincial and territorial physiotherapy regulators of Canada. In service to Regulator Members, CAPR verifies the education and qualifications of physiotherapists educated outside of Canada and administers the Physiotherapy Competency Examination (PCE) to all candidates seeking eligibility for independent physiotherapy licensure in Canada.
Our stakeholders include various organizations which work within this field including those representing practicing physiotherapists, academics, healthcare agencies, affiliated Regulatory agencies, the government, communities and the public. Candidates for entry to practice include graduates of Canadian university physiotherapy programs, physiotherapists re-entering practice and internationally educated physiotherapists.
CAPR’s innovation agenda continues to advance a longstanding commitment to best practice standards in evaluation services and evidence-based policies. CAPR is also focused on initiatives to advance transparency, good governance and a sustainable and evolving organization.
