    The College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM) exists to serve and protect the public interest and to administer The Occupational Therapists Act and the Occupational Therapists Regulation.

    COTM is governed by a council, which is comprised of at least nine persons, one-third of whom must be public representatives. Council members are elected or appointed in accordance with the legislation and by-laws.

    They work to maintain and build confidence in the occupational therapy profession by:

    • setting standards for practice and ethical conduct;
    • registering only those occupational therapists who meet established education and practice standards;
    • responding fairly with concerns and complaints raised about members’ practice; and
    • monitoring and supporting members’ continued competence.

    Guided by their mission and statutory obligation to protect the public by regulating occupational therapy practice in Manitoba, the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM) is seeking its next Registrar/Executive Director to guide organizational strategy, program development, and delivery, and to act as a key driver and advocate of COTM’s vision and mission.

    Reporting to the board of directors, the Registrar/Executive Director is an important role that will serve on a network of advisory councils and committee, ensuring a consistent, professional, and quality brand and image of occupational therapists in Manitoba.

    This is an excellent leadership opportunity for the health professional who has extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and who enjoys fostering best practices and providing quality service to the health and well-being of Manitobans.

    • Develop partnerships, leverage opportunities, and lead and motivate stakeholders in the execution of organizational strategies and the vision, mission, and mandate.
    • Manage human resource requirements; including recruiting and onboarding staff and volunteers.
    • Act as a representative with a number of provincial and federal regulatory organizations
    • Identify the needs of the public, members, volunteers, and stakeholders, ensuring COTM products, standards, and guidelines align with the governing legislation, regulations, and best practices.
    Experience & Skillset
    • Post-secondary education in occupational therapy or in health, wellness, or social services-related discipline.
    • 5 years in a management/administrative position with demonstrated abilities in strategic planning, personnel management, financial resources management, program services delivery, and organizational development.
    • Strong stakeholder engagement experience and involvement with governance and regulatory oversight best practices.
    • Experience in board relations, either serving on a board or reporting to a board.
    • Strong and effective communication skills along with hands-on experience managing financial budgets and providing financial oversight.
