    The Electrical Contractors Association of Alberta (ECAA) is seeking a dynamic leader with experience in association management in a member-driven organization, with an understanding of Regulatory standards and reporting to a not-for-profit Board.  The ECAA provides progressive industry training and engages government on behalf of members to address barriers, improve business certainty and advance professionalism in the industry.

    This professional association represents a membership of over 750 electrical contractors and associates, as well as 800 regulatory members.  ECAA is also the Registered Employer Organization for those contractors signatory to Certificate 52 with IBEW Local 424.

    The Role

    Major duties involve leading a staff of four, providing support to the Board in its governance activities, assistance to the Labour Relations chair, overseeing professional regulation in protecting the public, and fostering strong relationships with government and stakeholders.  Working with the Professional Electrical Contractor chair adheres to the requirements of the Professional Occupational & Associations Registrations Act (POARA) and Professional Electrical Contractor & Master Electrician (PEC&ME) Regulation.   This is a full-time permanent position that primarily operates out of the ECAA office at 17725 – 103 Avenue.  Travel and overtime part of expected duties.

    Education and Experience

    Diploma or degree in business administration preferred; Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation strong asset; minimum of seven years managerial experience; prior experience and knowledge of non-profit business functionalities; executive leadership experience with responsibility for operational, financial, administrative, human resources and strategic leadership within an organization of similar scale and complexity; working knowledge of legislation and best practices with a statutory body.  Must have strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines is critical.


    Some travel within the Province of Alberta and participation at evening meetings is expected
