The College of Acupuncturists of Alberta (the College) is the regulatory body of the acupuncturist profession in Alberta, with the mandate to govern the profession in the public interest. Effective December 30, 2020, the acupuncturist profession will be governed under the Health Professions Act. The position of Complaints Director is now available for application.

The Hearings Director shall perform all duties required of, and exercise the powers provided to the Hearings Director in the Act, including:
(a) receive referrals for a hearing made by the Complaints Director, request for review of dismissal of complaint, and appeals under the Act;
(b) appoint members from the membership list referred to in section 15 of the Act and members of Council to form a complaint review committee, a hearing tribunal or an appeal panel, and coordinate the hearing, review or hearing of an appeal in accordance with the Act;
(c) follow up with the investigated person on compliance with the orders, decisions or directions made by the hearing tribunal or a panel to review an appeal; and
(d) prepare documents as needed.

Post-secondary education and work experience with similar responsibilities will be an asset.
