The College of Acupuncturists of Alberta (the College) is the regulatory body of the acupuncturist profession in Alberta, with the mandate to govern the profession in the public interest. Effective December 30, 2020, the acupuncturist profession will be governed under the Health Professions Act. The position of Complaints Director is now available for application.

The Complaints Director shall perform all duties required of, and exercise the powers provided to the Complaints Director in the Act and Regulation, including:
(a) receive complaints and information deemed as complaints;
(b) conduct the investigation or appoint an investigator to conduct the investigation into a complaint;
(c) refer the complainant and the investigated person, with their agreement, to an alternative complaint resolution process;
(d) make decisions regarding complaints in accordance with the Act; and
(e) present the case against an investigated member to the hearing tribunal, as needed.

The applicant shall have a bachelor’s degree and office work experience. A degree in law and work experience with similar responsibilities will be an asset.
